Upon coming across your writing and podcast on istighfaar and seeing signs of it everywhere, I picked up the habit during Ramadan. However currently, I haven’t been on top of it as I used to and there was this immense feeling of guilt and hypocrisy.
Feeling stuck for a while, I asked Allah to forgive my shortcomings and asked him to help me because even making Dhikr for His remembrance is only through His help and mercy. And subhanallah today I listened to this podcast and it was a refreshing reminder indeed.
My point in sharing this? Just begin with the steps towards ArRahman. Oftentimes we self loath on ourselves, disappointed about the regression of our progress—and Shaytan capitalizes on that vulnerability. But that’s never been the case with Allah. With He, ArRahman, the Lord of the heavens and earth and everything in between, he sees our efforts, our strengths, our weaknesses—He knows all.
So there’s no masking with Allah. Turn to him and genuinely ask Him because any good is through his help.
يا حيُّ يا قيُّومُ برحمتِك أستغيثُ اصلحْ لي شأني كلَّهُ ولا تكلني إلى نفسي طرْفةَ عينٍ
O Ever Living, O self-subsisting and supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.
But how do differentiate while doing istaghfar we are more blessed then we ain't doing because nowadays I m not getting any visible thing u know ..while still grateful n keeping in mind virtues of istaghfar
Thank you for these podcasts! They’ve been a blessing.
I have been asking Allah to "unstuck" me. To guide me and help me. He led me to your podcasts. Allahumma Barik!
Most definitely, Istighfaar is the Cheatcode we need in our lives.
The way you explained the point "may be Istighfaar is removing the negatives" hit differently.
May Allah accept from us and include us to those who engage in dhikr consistently.
