Especially when you can't see a way out
I received a message in response to sharing this post on Instagram:
“Salam,
I pray this is true, I'm trying, my human mind cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
My response to this beautiful heart, and anyone in the same place:
This is a very important time.
This is the time to double down and show Allah you believe in Him. This is where having belief and holding on to Allah really matters, because every other indication is telling you it's hopeless and your life is ruined.
You have to refuse that belief. Fight it. Recruit the bravest, boldest part of yourself, make her in charge. The fighter and survivor.
Say it over and over:
Allah is with me.
He will save me.
He will not leave me.
He will make a way.
His plan is perfect.
Ease is coming.
In some ways it's already here.
When the fears and doubts get loud and Shaytan comes with his whispers to discourage, depress, and distract you. Turn those fears into dua:
Ya Allah don't leave me.
Ya Allah I'm struggling to hold on, hold on to me.
Treat this with more Qur'an, more istighfar, more thikr.
It will get fixed. It will be resolved bi ithnillah. Just don't stop and don't give up.
May Allah grant you all His ease and every Khair imaginable!
Ladies on your monthly cycle:
There’s conflicting advice on whether or not you can read Quran at that time…
I follow the perspective that we can read it and it’s permissible. If you do too, make sure you don’t drop your Quran when you aren’t praying.
On the contrary, increase the quantities and double down on your thikr in the time you would have used for prayers.
Don’t waste the time doing nothing and lose your momentum. It’s so much harder to start from scratch. It’s a kind of self sabotage to build up this precious habit and tear it down one week out of the month only to have to make the climb again.
Keep waking up for Qiyam and use the time for dua and thikr, say your morning athkar after Fajr comes in and read your Quran. Don’t slack off.
Shaytan is just waiting for you to relax so he can get to you while your guard is down. Stay vigilant and use the time to boost yourself and do more than normal.
You're all in my Duas, remember me in yours.
Fi Aman'Illah
Sumayah
Alhamdulilah for reading these much needed words today. May you be rewarded for the comfort this brought me and others.
Jazakillahi khayran for this.
